"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
We must do more then just believing that God exists, we must earnestly seek him. That is what I will be focusing on, earnestly seeking the one who created me, who knows me, who has my name engraved on the palm of his hand.
"Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. "
I have been feeling weary lately so I thought this verse would be a good one to have on my mind all week. I pray that you too will not grow weary.
"But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy.'
-1 Peter 1:15-16
I always wondered about this verse. How could God expect us to be holy when he knows we are sinful- that we will never be perfect? Turns out holy doesn't mean perfect at all. Holy means: Set apart to the service or worship of God; Spiritually whole or sound; pure in heart. God is not telling us to be perfect, he is telling us to be set apart, to be pure of heart. This is part of what #SheReadsTruth said "Being holy, though, has less to do with being without fault and more to do with the state of our heart once we’ve come to know Christ. " So, I encourage you sweet sisters to go about this week realizing that you are 'set apart' and that you should be pure of heart (holy) in all that you do! Don't have a bitter heart while washing those dishes, don't get frustrated while picking up the toys or sweeping the floor for the 75th time- be set apart- be holy in all that you do, no matter how small!
"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a women who fears the LORD is to be praised."
