My Story

My story begins with hoof prints. I have loved horses since before I knew what love was! My mom tells a story from when I was two. I do not remember it of course, but apparently we lived down the road from two horses. Everyday we would walk to feed them carrots. My older brother wanted nothing to do with these big scary animals- but I was not afraid! Years ago I told my mom I wanted a chestnut horse with a bald face (horsey people know what I mean- its a brown horse with a white face). My mom said that is exactly what one of the horses looked like, Joey I think his name was!

I began riding lessons when I was 10ish. Wow! I loved it. I bought my first horse, with a little help from my grandfather, when I was 16. I spent many a school day out at the barn (shhhhh, don't tell mom!). Horses are an important part of who I am today. I learned how to love and care for something other then myself. I learned nothing is free- horses are expensive! I learned that I am hot headed and have a bit of a temper and that it does no good to get angry with an animal that out weighs me by 850lbs! You catch more flies with honey ya know! Some of my fondest and best memories come from those teen years trail riding with my girlfriend and our horses! I still own the horse I bought when I was 16. She is old now, too thin and I don't get to ride much, but I love her all the same!

I became a registered nurse after high school (and after a few years of taking classes with no real purpose)! I met my husband while in nursing school. I was 22, he was 21. I wanted nothing to do with him. He looked like trouble and I was right!! But he was persistent and very handsome so I had to give in!  He introduce me to Jesus, so I guess he was worth all that trouble.

We have had a whirl wind of a few years. We were married in June of 2008, bought our first home in August of 2008. Suffered a miscarriage with our first child in September of 2008. That got me on the baby making train and we haven't jumped off yet. Our oldest came in December of 2009. Our twins came in July of 2011, and our fourth baby came in May of 2013. Four kids and not quite 5 years of marriage. Phew- I am tired just from writing this!!

My hubby is the most amazing man I know. He is perfect for me and I love living life with him. He works hard so I can be a homemaker and train our children. This is a life I never thought I would lead, but I finally know my purpose and I am thankful that it is a wife and mom to this amazing family.

I hope and pray that I can be of encouragement to even a few women though this blog. I will do my best to always give Godly advice and to keep Jesus and family the focus.
